TSA DrillingEdition
The TSA DrillingEdition has been specially developed to meet the requirements of drilling contractors. This vacuum tank semi-trailer combines high suction power, a large usable volume and a low kerb weight with practical features designed for day-to-day drilling operations.
Compared to conventional piston-type vacuum trucks, the TSA DrillingEdition is up to 10 tonnes lighter. This allows for a higher payload. The reduced amount of technical equipment also minimises wear and tear.
The TSA DrillingEdition at a glance:
- 28 m³ tank volume
- 25 m³ usable volume for drilling mud
- Integrated 3 m³ water tank
- JUROP DL 180 vacuum compressor with 17,600 l/min air output
- Internal paddle agitator
- Up to 9 t permissible axle load
- Air-suspended chassis with lift axle and self-steering third axle
- Vehicle-mounted high-pressure cleaner
- Tried and tested in practice
Less weight. More payload.
The TSA DrillingEdition is based on the tried-and-tested chassis and suspension concept of the TSA series, offering a permissible axle load of up to 9 tonnes.
The air-suspended chassis features a lift axle and a third axle with trailing steering, which is automatically blocked when reversing. This reduces tyre wear and fuel consumption. The optimised weight distribution ensures optimum fifth-wheel load and traction for the tractor unit, even when the tank is empty.
The TSA DrillingEdition comes as standard with the WABCO SmartBoard, including an axle load display.
Chassis and undercarriage features:
- Tyres: 385/65 R 22.5
- Additional air spring pressure gauge
- WABCO SmartBoard including axle load display
- Storage boxes on both sides of the vehicle
- Aluminium ladder for daily visual inspection of safety-critical components
- Reflective vehicle markings on the sides and rear
- Easily accessible maintenance points
28 m³ volume. Designed for drilling operations.
The steel tank has a total volume of 28 m³. Of this, 3 m³ is designated as an internal water tank. The remaining 25 m³ of tank volume is available for drilling mud. The water carried on board supplies the vehicle’s own high-pressure cleaner or is available as flushing water for the drilling rig. This ensures that the required water is available directly from the vehicle. The steel tank features a two-component epoxy resin internal coating. The exterior is painted in the desired RAL colour.
Tank specifications:
- 28 m³ total volume
- Integrated 3 m³ water tank
- 25 m³ usable volume for drilling mud
- Two-component epoxy resin internal coating
- Exterior paint finish in the desired RAL colour
- Side filling and emptying connection
- Swivelling 1,200 mm access hatch cover at the rear
- Additional swivelling access hatch cover on the side of the vehicle
- Flushing connections at the front and side
- Pneumatic overflow pipe for air venting and bleed
Keep the drilling mud in motion.
An internal paddle agitator extending the full length of the tank keeps the drilling mud in constant motion. It prevents the rock, sand and clay particles contained in the drilling mud from settling.
This reduces deposits in the tank and enables it to be emptied almost completely. The number of revolutions per minute (rpm) for the paddle agitator can be adjusted as required.
17,600 l/min suction capacity. Designed for continuous operation.
At the heart of the vacuum system is the air-cooled JUROP DL 180 vacuum compressor with an air output of 17,600 l/min. The hydraulically driven compressor is designed for continuous operation and features overheat protection.
Switching between suction and pressure is carried out electrically.
Vacuum technology at a glance:
- JUROP DL 180 vacuum compressor
- Air output of 17,600 l/min
- Air-cooled and hydraulically driven
- Designed for continuous operation
- Overheat protection and warning
- Electrical switching between suction and pressure modes
- Siphon separator, air filter and silencer
Equipment that makes a difference in the field.
The vehicle’s own high-pressure washer can be used to flush out the borehole and to clean hoses, couplings and the vehicle itself. A hose reel with a 15-metre hose is included as standard. The spray pattern of the nozzle can be adjusted from a full jet to a fan spray.
Hose storage and storage boxes provide space for suction hoses and couplings. An internal float with a level indicator is also included.
Optional extras include additional lighting on top of the tank and work lights to illuminate the working area. A debris chute at the rear, beneath the access hatch cover, allows residual material to be discharged cleanly.
Flexible filling and emptying.
The container connections for filling and emptying can be configured as required. Connections are available in the centre left, centre right or at the rear. At the rear, a T-piece can also be fitted beneath the access hatch cover to provide a suction option from the left and right. An additional gate valve can also be fitted to the rear of the access hatch cover.
