Garant Kotte is now offering the innovative electric steering system ElectronicSteeringSystem 2.0, ESS 2.0 for short, for new tandem and tridem slurry tankers. The ESS 2.0 is a donorless electric forced steering system that is operated without a steering linkage between the tractor and slurry tanker.
The ESS 2.0 represents a significant advance in steering management for trailed slurry tankers. As a donorless electric forced steering system, it offers a number of advantages over conventional systems with one or two steering linkages. The elimination of steering sensors not only reduces the risk of mechanical failures due to operating errors, but also significantly reduces maintenance requirements and, above all, tyre wear due to incorrect tracking. The slurry tankers can also be towed by all tractors without the need for a precisely defined hitch or a steering console customised for each tractor. This results in significantly shorter set-up times and convenient hitching and unhitching of the slurry tanker. The elimination of steering rods or cylinders also means that larger steering angles can be realised between the tractor and the shears of the tanker.
If an ISOBUS control system is selected as the tanker control, the ESS 2.0 can be integrated and operated as a separate ISOBUS subscriber without an additional control box.
